Plastic Surgeons and Best Ophthalmologists
in Beverly Hills in a report published in
the Los Angeles Times.
Best Doctors is the largest continuous
peer-to-peer survey of the medical profession
ever conducted. Targeted surveys help to
identify specialists who are considered
by fellow physicians to be the most skilled
in their fields and most qualified for reviewing
and treating complex medical conditions.
The polling process is anonymous and
confidential, qualitative and quantitative.
Doctors do not pay to be included in the
database, nor are they paid to participate
in the survey. The judgement of peers is
the determining factor.
As far as we know, Dr
Hoenig is the only doctor to have been
selected in two categories. A great big

Just
a few weeks ago, Dr Hoenig traveled to San Franciscso
to lecture on Necklifts for the American
Society of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive
Surgery (ASOPRS) annual meeting.
Geared
to fellow plastic surgoens, his lecture, titled "A
Graduated Approach to Neck Rejuvenation", covered
everything from liposuction and scarless neck
tucks to neck muscle repair and full neck lifts.
An
innovative option for sagging necks is a "direct
neck lift". An ellipse-shaped piece of skin is
removed from the front of the neck and after some
fancy suturing, the resulting scar is virtually
invisible. With this approach, there are no incisions
around the ears - which is a real bonus for men
in particular, since they do not have long hair
to cover any scars.

On October 12th, California governor
Arnold Schwarzenegger signed into law California
Assembly Bill 1116. The so-called Donda
West Law, named after the mother of entertainer
Kanye West, prohibits elective cosmetic
surgery on a patient unless, prior to surgery, the
patient has received a physical examination
and clearance for surgery.
The history and physical exam can be
performed by a physician, physician assistant,
or nurse practitioner.

About 50% of the patients we see now come
to Dr. Hoenig from near and far for revisions
of a procedure or surgery done elsewhere. That
number is up from about 25% just five years
